On iPhone and iPad, Prizmo's capture workflow has been simplified to focus on speed. In just 3 taps, have your document scanned, cleaned up, cropped, and OCRed to a multi-page PDF waiting for you right into the cloud, and available on all your devices.
Prizmo now provides an autoshoot capability together with a much enhanced page detection technique with live feedback. Many document options like cleanup are preconfigured, and results are now previewed directly during capture to avoid later reshooting.
On the Mac, Prizmo lets you operate picture files / raw PDFs / TWAIN scanners directly, or use the iPhone or iPad as capture device. A menu action also lets you capture screen text (like a screenshot) and process it. And if automating larger scanner batches is needed, its new companion app Prizmo Remix (bundled together) will sort that out for you. Stunning image enhancements
Creating beautiful-looking scans from photos has always been at the heart of Prizmo. Enhance pictures with perspective crop, cleanup, brightness & contrast, and many other tools. In fact, Prizmo’s unique non-destructive and reversible pipeline lets you achieve the best possible 300+ DPI output in camera-based scanning land, and also improve quality from scanner raw output.
But even after a decent cropping round, some annoying artifacts can possibly remain. Prizmo comes with advanced techniques to further improve visual quality. Non-flat books and magazines pages are flattened, leading to improved OCR accuracy, and irregular document borders fixed with the edge repair tool for stunning results.

Prizmo offers not one but multiple best-in-class OCR options: reliable & accurate on-device OCR with machine learning and high-performance cloud-based OCR that even comes with very accurate handwriting recognition in many languages.
Not only does Prizmo detect the text, it also gives you full access to the process itself and to the document structure when you need it. You can review and edit the recognized text along with the source image, or even trigger OCR again on specific text blocks with tuned binarization or other language settings. This truly is best-in-class text and language support offered in a scanning app.
Handwriting recognition
When using the Cloud OCR option, Prizmo not only supports over a hundred languages, but it also brings unmatched handwriting recognition. Or even files with both standard printed text and text written by hand, and with a very high human-level accuracy. Searching text in handwritten notes has never been easier.
Automatic translation
The Mac version of Prizmo even go as far as offering AI translation within the document itself. And not word-by-word translation as is usually offered in apps, but actual sentence meaning. This can be handy if you need to work on documents in a foreign language.
Annotate and sign documents
With the latest Prizmo version, Apple Pencil can be used to annotate documents. This makes it ultra easy to fill out scanned forms, mark up papers, highlight sentences, and sign documents without leaving Prizmo. And if you don’t have an Apple Pencil on your iPad or if you work on an iPhone, your finger or a more usual capacitive pen can be used too! On Mac, Prizmo's output files are standard PDFs and can be annotated directly with Preview.
This brings tremendous new power to your scans. Also, all editing made in Prizmo is non-destructive, and that includes annotations. You can re-open a older document and change your mind: edit / remove / update old notes to generate a new PDF from it. Handy!

PDF Auto upload (iOS)
Another major feature in Prizmo is the background OCR processing followed by automatic PDF generation and upload into the cloud at lightning speed.
Shoot a document, and let Prizmo handle it for you. The cleaned up & searchable PDF is already waiting for you in the cloud. The supported cloud storage services include a folder of Apple Files applications (including third-party file services), Apple’s iCloud, Dropbox, Microsoft’s OneDrive, and WebDAV, which make accessing to your documents completely seamless and ubiquitous.
Rich export options & smart actions
Prizmo offers numerous export options such as searchable PDF, regular text, PNG, JPEG, or vCard files. And it now even includes the Microsoft Word (DOCX) format with preserved document layout that will also work in Apple's Pages or Google Docs, together with optional PDF password protection and new PDF compression schemes (JBIG2, CCITT G4) to achieve high resolution scans possibly well under 50KB. In short, you are in control.
However, when you're on the go, a document might also contain practical information that you wish to make direct use of such as a phone number or email address. Prizmo will now extract and expose this data as Smart Actions (iOS): tap a physical address to navigate there with Maps, tap a phone number to call it, tap an email address and Mail comes up. A URL or a date? You’re all set.
Deep integration (iOS)
Prizmo works really hard to be an exemplary iOS citizen. Not only does it propose an elegant yet coherent interface that plays well with iOS standards, but it also features deeper integration like Continuity across iPhone/iPad/Mac, iCloud documents, Open In and Photos extensions, iPad multitasking & keyboard shortcuts, drag & drop, Siri Shortcuts, VoiceOver, and text-to-speech background audio playback.

Split document batches (macOS)
The Mac version of Prizmo now brings support for handling multiple page groups in a single document. This can be handy when you want to process a single scanning batch of say 20 pages from the scanner's feeder, that actually are 5 distinct documents. This power-user feature will let you split the document into as many groups, give them a name, process them as usual, with the additional export options of creating one PDF per page group.
Screen text grabbing tool (macOS)
Sometimes it's frustrating to have text displayed on your screen that you can't copy/paste because the text is not selectable. Exhaustive support for VoiceOver
Prizmo is an essential tool for blind and low-vision users, as it allows to scan & read aloud text documents. Prizmo offers exhaustive VoiceOver support that enables operating all features of the app with absolutely no visual feedback. Moreover, it also comes with specific features like spoken guidance prior to shooting as well as spoken document description that informs about page and device positioning & text quantity prior to shooting. These let you take the best possible picture and extract the best possible text from it.
All-in-one text reader, with a voice
Extracted text can be sent to the built-in Text Reader for a comfortable multi-page reading experience. Text rendering can be fully customized by adjusting margins, line spacing, text size, and fonts. The reader is fully compliant with iOS’s Dynamic Type, and it even proposes the OpenDyslexic font to help with dyslexia.
Prizmo’s Text Reader is also fully equipped with a text-to-speech capability that will read the text aloud. It provides interactive individual word highlighting as they are being spoken, and offers controls to navigate through sentence or pages. Speech rate can be adjusted, and Prizmo can even read in the background to your audio setup (headphones, car…), just like a music player.
Batch editing

Prizmo for iPhone/iPad is available as a free download on the App Store to try out its core features. The Premium Pack in-app purchase unlocks all limitations: unlimited on-device OCR, unconstrained access to text / text-to-speech / smart actions, and removal of watermark in exports. The Cloud Plan subscription includes all Premium Pack features and enables Cloud OCR for handwriting and additional languages support. Prizmo 5 (Volume Ed.) for iPhone/iPad has all Premium Pack features. It is available in Apple’s VPP Store for enterprises and educational institutions.

Prizmo for Mac can be downloaded for free on the App Store, and offers either the Pro Pack, a one-time in-app purchase, or the Pro Plan subscription. It is also available on Setapp. The Pro Pack unlocks the On-device OCR and allows watermark-free outputs, while the Pro Plan enables the Cloud OCR for handwriting and many additional languages, as well as a cloud-based AI translation service. Additionally, any purchase in Prizmo for Mac unlocks matching features in Prizmo Remix, a separate app for scanner automation.
