Versions

  • Can I use Carbo with any iOS device?
You need an iOS device running iOS 13 or higher.

  • What do you mean by “universal app”?
When purchasing Carbo, you can install and use it on your iPhone, iPad and Mac.

  • Do you plan to release Carbo for other mobile phones?
Not at this time, but feel free to get in touch with us through our Facebook webpage or Twitter account.

  • Is Carbo also available on computers?
Carbo is now available on the Mac with a Mac Catalyst (Optimized for Mac) app. You will need a Mac running macOS Big Sur.

Editing

  • How can I change picture orientation?
You can change picture orientation just after taking the picture (tap the dedicated button in the lower left corner). Then, you can save the picture as a new note in Carbo.
Orientation can't be changed on existing notes however.

Tags and Annotations

  • How can I edit tags?
Swipe left in order to edit or delete the tag.
Bear in mind that doing so will update the tag name in all notes of all stores (Evernote, Dropbox, iCloud). Syncing this update could cause some delay.

  • How can I select several tags?
Press and hold the tags in order to get them selected for the search.

  • Is it possible to sort notes alphabetically?
All notes are sorted chronologically, but you can filter out notes according to one or several tags, the store, or based on a search string that will look into annotations and tags.

Export

  • Which formats are available for output?
You can export in JPEG, PNG and PDF. Besides, transparency is supported for PNG and PDF.

  • Which pixel dimensions can be the output image?
Carbo exports up to A4 letter size at 1200 dpi for PDF (black and white), and 600 dpi for JPEG, PNG and PDF (color).

  • Is it possible to export a vector file?
No, it isn't as there’s no underlying vector file in Carbo. The high resolution is dynamically generated within the application. The best you can do at this time is exporting your note with high-resolution output (600 dpi or more), and then vectorize that image in a vector drawing application.

Feature Requests

  • Will you support color in the future?
It’s technically complex, but it’s definitely a feature we’d like to add support for at some point. It’d be more in the form of limited number of colors though (like 8 or 16 colors).
